Dina Flxible: Made
in Mexico.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Flxible established very
close contacts with Mexican bus operators. Quite a few Visicoaches,
VL100 s, and Hi-Levels were sold down there. Eventually, an agreement
was reached with DINA whereby Dina built Flxible buses from CKD
(Completely Knocked Down) kit in Mexico. By 1964, Flxible provided
the tooling and subassemblies needed to produce the Flxiliner
and merely collected royalties on that production. Up until 1964,
the VL100 s and Hi-Levels sold to Mexico either as finished buses
or in CKD form were counted as part of Flxible production. (More
Hi-Levels were sold to Mexico than anywhere else.) With DINA assuming
production of the Flxiliner for the Mexican market, that production
was not counted as part of Flxible production beginning in 1964.
Buses with some basic Flxiliner features and styling were continued
in production by DINA until early 1989 .
