Wow! Had a great time at Quartzsite! My first time there as I just purchased our 56 VL 100 Dec. first. Rough count 8 VL 100's, 2 hi liners, 5 Flxliners, 4 various Transit models, 10 or so Clipper style buses. Other than for the warm weather Quartzsite would be my last choice for a place to stay. However, the Swap Meets and the RV show were fun and a source of expense! Particularly enjoyed the "State Fair" style food (read DEEP FRIED). The one thing that has nothing to
do with where the meet is held are the tremendous Flx owners
themselves!!! We arrived late on Friday about 7pm, several people greeted us and guided us to our spot-much like parking a 747 it seems.. Dinner had ended but our wonderful hosts Lou and Marylin would hear nothing of us not eating! They and the other hosts broke out the entire spread again just to feed us four-talk about feeling at home!

There were fun games and mixer events. One icebreaker had us trying to determine who lost there virginity in a tree and who was gay for each other! Had to be there for the answers folks-that'l learn ya.

The wife looked out our window one morning to see a bunch of grown men huddling around an engine compartment of a neighboring bus-boys and had to laugh. Soon as she turned her back I was out the door with my nose stuck in that engine compartment.... I had the most fun touring the many coaches and holding court in mine. So many wonderful ideas of ways to dump even more money into our coaches. In fact I was so enamoured with the polishing on several of the coaches that instead of heading back toward California we ventured to Eloy AZ about an hour south of Phoenix near Casa Grande. Got my stainless and aluminum polished-got to buy sun glasses now. More information on this adventure later, sufice it to say $500.00 later...

It seems as though many people, including us, left on Sunday. Many were headed to Mexico for paint jobs or other work, some on to other vacation spots.

I'd love to mention all the wonderful people that we met by name but am afraid I'd miss one or two. Many folks were from far back East and even the Washington and Florida. Man those Flxs get around.

Thanks to all who participated and particularly the Warrens who hosted the event, it's a lot of work!
